ATP Hamburg: Quarter-final predictions

Marin Cilic
Here are some of my predictions for the numerous quarter-finals to be played out tomorrow:

A strong line-up has made the quarter-finals with the highlights being the first quarter-final between Kohlschreiber and Almagro and the all-German clash between Haas and Mayer.
Predictions:
Philipp Kohlschreiber to beat Nicolas Almagro in 3 sets
Juan Monaco to beat Jeremy Chardy in 3 sets
Marin Cilic to beat Albert Ramos in 2 tight sets
Florian Mayer to beat Tommy Haas in 2 tight sets

The American heavy draw looks likely to provide three US semi-finalists although four places are still up for grabs in the quarter-finals.
Predictions:
Andy Roddick to beat Michael Russell in 2 sets
Kei Nishikori to beat Go Soeda in 3 sets

Rain has cancelled all play today, which means only one quarter-final has been decided so far.
Predictions:
Polona Hercog to beat Tsvetana Pironkova in 2 sets

The tournament in San Diego is still completely wide open; it was a shame to see Heather Watson go out yesterday because she had a great chance to go deep in this draw.  The remaining second round matches including Jelena Jankovic and Dominika Cibulkova will be played out tonight.
Predictions:
Nadia Petrova to beat Varvara Lepchenko in 2 sets
