WTA Brussels/Strasbourg: Quarter-Final Predictions

The two WTA tournaments this week have seen a host of upsets so far with Roland Garros just four days away.  There are just three seeds remaining in Brussels with Agnieszka Radwanska cruising into the final eight with a 6-1 6-0 victory over Lesia Tsurenko.  She was joined in the quarter-finals by her sister Urszula Radwanska, who has now won five matches this week with her second round win over the number two seed, Marion Bartoli the pick of the bunch.  Kaia Kanepi and Dominika Cibulkova were the only other seeds to make the quarter-finals.  Also of note is the young Belgian, Alison Van Uytvanck who has made the quarter-finals with two mightily impressive wins over Ksenia Pervak and Chanelle Scheepers.

In Strasbourg, there are just two seeds left and they are the top two in Anabel Medina Garrigues and Francesca Schiavone.  While Medina has struggled through two tough matches, Schiavone has rolled through the tournament so far with two comfortable victories over Alexandra Cadantu and Mirjana Lucic.  Also of note is Alize Cornet who staged an excellent come-from-behind victory to beat Shahar Peer, 4-6 6-4 6-0.  She was joined in the last eight by Johanna Larsson and Sloane Stephens who both racked up some much needed wins on the clay.
